PCC candidates

On 15th November 2012, the public will have the opportunity to elect a local Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) who will be responsible for delivering an effective police service in their police force area. Police and Crime Commissioners will replace Police Authorities in England and Wales.

PCCs were introduced by the Government with the aim of making the police accountable to the public and to hold chief constables and their forces to account. Police and Crime Commissioners will also be responsible for working in partnership with a number of agencies at a local and national level.
