Hotspotting

Hotspotting provides an account of a project which turned crime hotspotting theory into practice in Northumbria and Thames Valley. Police teams in both forces were charged with reducing public calls for the service by applying problem-oriented policing theory and methods.

The report explores how hot spots were identified and located, how problem oriented policing was used and includes an evaluation of the project as a whole, together with conclusions and lessons.
