Stan Gilmour

Senior Associate Fellow

Stan Gilmour is currently the Director of the Thames Valley Violence Reduction Unit and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter. In his 30 years in policing Stan worked across local and neighbourhood policing, major crime, intelligence operations, counter-terrorism and public protection. He was a member of the College of Policing’s Neighbourhood Guidelines and Problem-Solving Guidelines Committees, helping to create a co-ordinated approach to evidence-based policing. Stan is the national lead for data sharing and analysis for the violence reduction network and is an ambassador for Administrative Data Research UK. He has a clear focus on how solutions to data and information sharing can underpin and add value to the choices made by the police, their communities and partners that adds legitimacy and builds trust. He holds an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Oxford.
